Drake marked his tribute to the late rock legend Ozzy Osbourne’s life and legacy by making an appearance in the singer’s hometown.
The Nokia singer has been performing in Birmingham and decided to stop by the Black Sabbath bench, after fans rallied up to the spot following the heavy metal pioneer’s passing.
As per The New York Times, the What Did I Miss? singer stepped out of a car with tinted black windows, and decided to pour tequila on the ground, a symbolic gesture which indicates pouring one out for someone in remembrance.
“I just came out to pay respects to someone who lived it to the fullest,” Drake told the outlet, noting that the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer was a cultural symbol, even for those who didn’t know his music.
Later, the Canadian rapper took to his Instagram to post a black-and-white video of himself interacting with somber fans at the location.
The brief clip was posted alongside a simple caption, the dove emoji as the Hotline Bling rapper seemed to be keeping things deliberately short, to make the homage more impactful.
The British rock star who rose to fame with his song Paranoid's real name was John Michael Osbourne.
