Jamie Lee Curtis recently shared an exciting update about the Murder, She Wrote reboot on the Freakier Friday red carpet.
Talking to Entertainment Tonight, the 66-year-old said, “Oh, it’s happening.” She added that the filming will begin anytime soon, but right now she’s wrapping up her current projects.
In December 2024, Variety confirmed the Knives Out actress was being considered to lead the reboot, playing Jessica Fletcher in the film.
Universal’s Murder, She Wrote reboot will be produced by Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Amy Pascal, while Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo will script the film.
The original series follows Jessica Fletcher, a middle-aged mystery writer and amateur detective who lives in the fictional town of Cabot Cove, where she helps the local police solve murders.
It ran for a whopping 12 seasons from 1984 to 1996, and peaked at 40 million views per week, with Angela Lansbury playing the lead.
As of now, the plot and cast details are being kept under wraps and are speculated to be revealed by the end of this year.
Notably, Curtis is currently promoting the sequel to her and Lindsay Lohan’s 22-year-old iconic movie, Freaky Friday.
The Oscar winner is also preparing for her upcoming comedy-drama film, Ella McCay, which is slated for December 12, 2025.
