James Gunn is on a mission to redefine DC superheroes as the director has found his writer for the Wonder Woman reboot.

After becoming co-chief of DC Studios, the filmmaker has reportedly announced a reboot of all feature films, including Batman and The Flash, though we won’t be seeing them till 2027.

He confirmed on X (formerly known as Twitter) that Ana Nogueira will script the highly anticipated Wonder Woman reboot, who is currently writing Milly Alcock’s Supergirl and a live-action Teen Titans film.

Gunn replied, “ok, this one is true,” to @dcfilnews' post on Ana Nogueira writing three back-to-back projects for DC.

Notably, Supergirl, directed by Craig Gillespie, is Nogueira’s first produced screenplay and is slated to release on July 26, 2026.

On the professional front, the 40-year-old is also an actress, having appeared in popular series like Vampire Diaries, Hightown and The Michael J. Fox Show.

As reported by Variety, with Superman grossing $409 million globally since its release on July 11, Gunn has pushed forward the development of Wonder Woman.

He mentioned to Entertainment Weekly, “A Wonder Woman movie is being written now.”

Though fans of the DC universe are skeptical of Ana Nogueira scripting a woman-led superhero film, they trust James Gunn’s vision after the massive success of Superman.

Some commented, “If Supergirl is good, we know Wonder Woman is in good hands.”

Currently, the DC studio is developing Paradise Lost, adapted for HBO Max. The events of the series will be set in Wonder Woman’s home, Themyscira.
