Filmmaker and co-head of DC Studios James Gunn has shut down the rumours about the next Wonder Woman casting and filming reports.
The director revealed that he’s not looking for the cast for his Wonder Woman film, addressing the rumours fans are sharing on Threads.
Not only did Gunn confirm that he’s not looking for actors to star in the movie, but he also said that he is not “even discussing it, until a script is finished.”
The Superman director also turned down the speculation that DC Studios is specifically demanding “an actress with a TV-centric résumé, akin to Supergirl’s Milly Alcock,” for the titular role.
“Nope. And I’d never in a million years look for a major role based on whether they did TV, films, or whatever,” he wrote. “It’s all about the casting.”
According to the brewing rumoured reports, the upcoming Wonder Woman film is being “fast-tracked.” However, the Guardians of the Galaxy writer-director denies such news, too.
“It’s a priority, but I wouldn’t call that fast-tracked,” he said. “Nothing is going to be shot unless we’re as sure as we can be that the script is good.”
With that, Gunn assured that DC Studios is more focused on other upcoming projects that are confirmed rather than Wonder Woman.
