Tom Holland, who stars as Spider-Man, has confirmed the fourth sequel titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, revealing that the MCU is embracing an old-fashioned moviemaking approach.
In the YouTube series Flip Your Wig, Holland teased the upcoming franchise instalment for the first time.
The Peter Parker portrayer energised the audience as he said the superhero’s forthcoming movie would offer them a “breath of fresh air.”
“I’m obviously over the moon and so excited,” he said of reprising his iconic character. “Playing Spider-Man is like hanging out with an old pal. And I think we were really restricted with what we could do in the last movie because of COVID; we shot the entire film on stages.”
Holland last appeared in the MCU franchise when Spider-Man: No Way Home wrapped with a dramatic conclusion.
“Now, we’re really gonna lean into that old-school filmmaking and shoot in real locations,” Holland continued. “Which is why we’re starting in Glasgow, and we’re gonna use the streets of Glasgow to build this massive set-piece that we’re putting together.”
The Billy Elliot the Musical star said that filming the new movie will feel like making 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming again.
“It’s been such a long time since I’ve done it — it’s gonna feel like a breath of fresh air, and I think the fans are going to be over the moon with what we’re putting together,” he assured.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will open in theatres on July 31, 2026.
