Tyler Perry, who created the television series Tyler Perry's House of Payne, was hit with a $260 Million suit by Derek Dixon with shocking allegations.
The actor has sued the American filmmaker over claims of sexual harassment, assault and retaliation and has now opened up about the significance of the filing.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Derek disclosed that he "couldn't just let him get away with this,” referring to Tyler.
He also explicitly noted, "Everyone deserves to go to work and do their job without their boss trying to have sex with them, my goal is to help ensure that the next generation of actors and creatives don't have to choose between their dreams and their dignity."
The actor also stated that the move had garnered some negative reactions, which is why male victims in such cases typically stay silent.
Meanwhile a lawyer for the entertainment mogul has denied all claims, calling them “fabricated” as they remain fixated that the narrative will be proven false.
Derek had worked with Tyler when he starred on two of his shows Ruthless and The Oval as Dale.
In the initial filing of the suit on June 13, 2025 the complaint alleges the Tyler had promised him career advancement and creative opportunities before making him the target of the sinister crimes.
