Greta Lee, known for her prominent role in Past Lives and The Morning Show has stepped behind the camera and debuted a new role as a director.
American actress, 42, will be directing the adaptation of The Eyes Are the Best Part by the author Monika Kim. It is a psychological horror novel based on the making of a female serial killer, for Searchlight Pictures.
Moreover, the story revolves around a struggling college freshman who develops an obsession with eating human eyes.
In addition, The New York Times praised The Eyes Are the Best Part as a “delightfully gory tale” that is “emotional as it is brutal.”
While the unique crew comprises producers Matt Jackson and Joanne Lee through Jackson Pictures, Lulu Wang through Local Time, and Dani Melia, the final cast is yet to be announced.
Furthermore, Kim will overlook the project as an executive producer and senior VP of production. Taylor Friedman and creative executive Daniel Yu will oversee the project while reporting to the co-heads of production and development DanTram Nguyen and Katie Goodson-Thomas.
The actress has received the best actress award for Celine Song’s Oscar nominated film Past Lives.
