Jennifer Aniston, widely known for her role as Rachel Green on the hit show Friends, surprised fans with candid revelations in a recent interview.
The 56-year-old actress appeared in the September issue of InStyle, where she exposed the darker side of the entertainment industry.
While speaking to the publication, the Friends star highlighted how the media preyed on young female stars during the late 2000s.
Aniston spoke about the immense pressure faced by teenage performers, citing Britney Spears as a prime example.
“They were feeding on young, impressionable girls,” she revealed.
Furthermore, the 1990s television icon noted that she had always focused on developing her craft rather than chasing fame.
“The priorities were not about becoming a famous person. It was, ‘Study your craft, learn what you're doing, don't just go out there and get lucky,’” she said.
Moreover, the she recalled her journey to stardom, sharing that it was marked by years of repeated rejection.
“I waitressed for years. I got a Bob’s Big Boy commercial on my 900th commercial audition,” she recalled.
Lastly, the Golden Globe winner reflected on how the media had destroyed the self-identity of rising talent, calling it “heart-breaking.”
