Liam Payne’s family is reacting to the late singer’s posthumous Netflix show, Building the Band, scheduled to premier on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
Building the Band is a documentary series by streaming giant Netflix which brought together 50 top tier musicians for a competition giving them a chance to build their own band based on musical compatibility, connection and chemistry.
Liam Payne also participated in the show alongside Nicole Scherzinger, Kelly Rowland and AJ McLean.
According to the Mirror, an insider revealed to the publication that the family of the What Makes You Beautiful hitmaker has given their blessing to the show.
The source added, “Netflix have gone out of their way to make sure the family is happy. Producers sent them the footage so they are fully aware of what to expect and they have given it their blessing.”
Previously, Liam’s sister Ruth also shared her opinion regarding the documentary.
Taking to Instagram Stories, she said, “I didn’t know whether to share this, but it felt odd when I raved about Liam’s work and achievement for the past 15 years,” expressing heartbreak over her little brother not being able to see how brilliant he was at the show.
Liam died on October 16, 2024, after falling from a hotel balcony in the Argentinian capital, Buenos Aires.
