James Gunn hints at bringing David Corenswet’s Superman into his next DCU venture.
As Superman is set to arrive in theatres on Friday, July 11, the movie will reintroduce the iconic character again in James Gunn’s DCU upcoming project.
While talking to Omelete, CEO of DC Studios revealed that Corenswet is aware he is the part of the new project, but knows “literally nothing” about details.
"[Corenswet] was asking me what I was working on… He knows that I am working on something. He knows he’s a part of it. He doesn’t know what it is…literally nothing,” Gunn stated.
Fans have speculated that the DC upcoming project will be Peacemaker season 2, set to release on HBO Max on August 21, 2025. It is also theorized that Corenswet’s Superman will make a cameo in season 2.
However, such details have not been confirmed yet.
The Guardian of Galaxy director has further clarified that the next DCU project will not be a direct sequel of Superman, even if it involves Krypton’s last son.
This came over the heels of Gunn’s announcement of starring Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman together in the DCU movie.
It is currently unknown if this upcoming project will be revealed in 2025, after the release of Superman.
Superman movie is going to be released in cinemas on Friday, July 11, 2025.
