Margot Robbie doesn’t think that there’s a potential for a followup movie
Sydney Sweeney has expressed openness to a role in a potential Barbie sequel adding that she’s a huge fan of Margot Robbie.
In an interview with Bustle, the 27-year-old Madame Web actress said, “I am a huge, huge fan of Margot Robbie.”
She added that if asked to star in the Barbie sequel opposite Robbie, she would have to read the script first, but wouldn’t say no.
The chances for a sequel remains slim as the producer and lead actress, Margot Robbie, doesn’t think that there’s a potential for a followup movie.
In an interview with the Associate Press in November 2023, Robbie said, “I think we put everything into this one. We didn’t build it to be a trilogy or something."
She added, "Greta put everything into this movie, so I can’t imagine what would be next.”

Barbie, released on July 21, 2023, turned out to be a biggest Warner Bros hit grossing over $1.44 billion worldwide.
It currently ranks 14th on the list of highest grossing movies of all time.
