Matthew McConaughey, who is known for his lead role in Interstellar, sent a strong message for his 10 million followers following Texas floods.
As the 55-year-old actor moved to Texas with his family in 2014, Matthew took a moment out to speak up for the victims of the natural disaster in the place.
He took to Instagram to bring attention to the “70 lives” lost and “countless Texans” hurting.
The True Detective star asked people to “lend a helping hand where and how you can,” insisting that “the chaos need the steady hand of a neighbour.”
He also appreciated the Texans for being “the most resilient and generous people on the planet.”
The Academy Award winner also shared the same update on his X (Twitter) handle.
Fans felt extremely motivated by this gesture as many decided to “volunteer” for the noble cause.
One of the users, showing readiness to help, asked: “What are the most reputable charities helping Texans affected by the flood right now?”
Another netizen expressed gratitude towards the actor: “Thank you for being a normie in Hollywood.”
A third one called Matthew a “humble man, the man with grace, the man who doesn’t want power.”
According to several reports, the Guadalupe River overflooded its capacity as it rose 30ft above the average level.
The flood swept an all-girls summer camp, Camp Mystic and as a result several girls are still unaccounted for.
