Kendrick Lamar seems to be on an all-time high with his career, as the popularity of his tracks only continues to grow.
In the list of accolades he has earned with his latest album GNX, there is yet another addition made by his much-loved track Luther with one of the singer’s frequent collaborators SZA.
The track, along with the album have broken two records on the Billboard Rap charts, marking another win the Euphoria rapper has had in a series of impressive achievements since his Grammys sweep earlier this year.
Billboard reports that the sixth studio album by the Humble rapper along with the song which was titled after R&B soul singer Luther Vandross have become the longest-reigning N0.1s on the Top Rap Albums and Hot Rap Songs charts respectively as of July 5, 2025.
GNX has spent 22 weeks dominating the chart, meanwhile Luther has held the top spot for 27 weeks, surpassing another one of Lamar’s own songs, Not Like Us, which held its own for 26 weeks on the list.
Meanwhile the fan-favourite duo which previously collaborated on the hit All The Stars are on the highly successful Grand National tour which kicked off in April, as co-headliners.
Luther Ronzoni Vandross Jr. was an R&B singer and record producer from New York. He is best known for hits like Dance with My Father and If This World Were Mine.
Vandross is widely recognised as one of the greatest artists of the twentieth century and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2021.
