Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, is set for a solo seven-day tour of Canada next week, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.
Running from June 25 to July 2, the trip includes stops in Prince Edward Island, Toronto, and Ottawa.
In Prince Edward Island, where he has served as Colonel-in-Chief of the local regiment since 2005, the Duke will attend events marking the 150th anniversary of
The Prince Edward Island Regiment, including a Freedom of the City parade.
He’ll also engage with youth groups and visit the Abegweit First Nation to participate in an education forum.
In Toronto, Edward will meet with the naval reserve unit HMCS York, the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment, and the Toronto Police Service's Marine Unit and Emergency Task Force.
He’ll also honour participants of the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award.
On July 1, Edward will join Canada Day celebrations in Ottawa and visit CFB Trenton and the RCMP in his role as Honorary Deputy Commissioner.
This will be Edward’s first Canadian visit since April 2023 and follows closely on the heels of King Charles and Queen Camilla’s recent trip in May to open Canada’s Parliament.
