Prince Edward performs key task as King Charles breaks royal tradition

Royal family issued a key update on Prince Edward ahead of the royal family's reunion at the Trooping the Colour ceremony.

On June 11, Buckingham Palace released delightful photos of the Duke of Edinburgh from his special visit to Elstree Film Studios to celebrate the historic milestone.

The statement alongside the pictures reads, "Celebrating 100 years of @ElstreeStudios!"

"The Duke of Edinburgh has marked the Centenary of Elstree Studios, visiting the historic home of Star Wars and Indiana Jones."

"On site, at one of Britain’s oldest and most prestigious film and television studios, His Royal Highness met the cast of @BBCEastEnders including long-serving actors Michelle Collins and Adam Woodyatt, before going behind-the-scenes on the set of ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’, scheduled for release in 2027."

It is important to note Prince Edward's fresh appearance came after The Times reported that the King is set to break tradition in the upcoming gathering of royals.

The monarch will not take a horse ride amid his battle with cancer.

He will ride in the carriage procession instead of on horseback at the significant ceremony.
