Spoilers for the movie ahead.

Netflix has just dropped the newest installment in the Fear Street franchise called Fear Street: Prom Queen, based on the 1992 novel from R.L. Stine.

“Welcome back to Shadyside. In this next installment of the blood-soaked Fear Street franchise, prom season at Shadyside High is underway and the school's wolfpack of It Girls is busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown. But when a gutsy outsider is unexpectedly nominated to the court, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing, the class of '88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night,” reads the synopsis for the flick.

Lori Granger, played by India Fowler, is an outcast haunted by the rumours that her mother murdered her father, with the only people who believe in her innocence being her and her best friend, Megan, played by Suzanna Son.

Who Dies?

Many, many people.

Most of the victims are the nominated prom queens, who are a part of the clique lead by Tiffany Falconer (Fina Strazza), who bullies the main character throughout the film.

Linda (Ilan O'Driscoll) faces disembowelment, Debbie (Rebecca Ablack) is electrocuted, Melissa (Ella Rubin) gets her face cleaved in half, and Claire (Eden Summer Gilmore) gets axed in the back.

Joining them are their boyfriends, the stereotypical jocks, as well as Lori’s love interest Tyler (David Iacono), who leaves Tiffany for the protagonist, only to receive a knife to the head.

Who Is The Killer?

There are, in fact, several killers.

Although initially only showing one, Melissa’s murder reveals that there are two working together.

The first killer is revealed when Lori gets crowned prom queen and the killer starts chopping their way to her. They get pulled back by Megan and then stabbed in the eye with the crown by Lori.

Taken down, the killer is revealed to be Dan Falconer (Chris Klein), one of the teachers at the school and Tiffany’s father.

Both he and her mother, Nancy (Katherine Waterston) were invested in ensuring their daughter’s win as prom queen.

"Because I knew how much you wanted it. Both of you,” he explains when asked why.

Lori and Tiffany bond and go to the latter’s house where they fall asleep. Nancy then arrives with a knife and chases after the girls, at which point it is revealed that Tiffany was also in on the murders.

Truth About Lori’s Parents

Towards the end, it is revealed that Lori’s mother, Rose (Joanne Boland), did not murder her father.

The culprit had actually been Nancy, who explained that she had murdered him because he had left her for Rose.

"You really remind me of your two-faced dad," she remarked, "He was mine first, you know. Before your skank of a mother came along... My face was the last thing that he ever saw."

Does Lori Make It?

After kicking Tiffany down from the first floor and hitting Nancy in the head with a statue, Lori escapes their clutches, alive and mostly well.

What Happens At The End?

Nancy curses out Lori with her dying breaths, asking her, "Who the f*** do you think you are?"

Lori, accepting her identity and name once and for all, responding, "I'm Lori f****** Granger."

Fear Street: Prom Queen is currently streaming on Netflix.
