Saturday Night Live UK is poking fun at Kanye West at the heels of his Wireless Festival headlining gig cancellation.
The Can’t Tell Me Nothing rapper was set to perform at the festival in London before being banned.
Ye's ban lead to the entire thing falling apart because organisers said that the event could not proceed without scheduled headliner, and promised ticked refunds.
In a fresh drop from the UK version of the sketch comedy show, Jack Whitehall can be spotted inspecting a bulletin board of past and future hosts and musical guests.
Ye, written as Kanye, could be seen tasked with double duty of hosting and being the musical guest for the April 25 episode, but his name is removed to mock the recent cancellation.
The joke did not land among internet users on X, many of whom took issue with the fact that he’d be included in the first place, with others calling the move performative.
One netizen wrote, “So performative bc why were they gonna let him perform in the first place?” as another added, “ye was never set to be on SNL.”
A third internet user questioned, “lmaooo they don’t gaf cause why would he be preforming in the first place.”
A fourth remarked, “They 100% did not have him scheduled and saw this bandwagon performative hate train and hopped on to stay relevant. No one cares or watches snl anymore. This isn’t 1997.”
