Sydney Sweeney has recently been considered as the next James Bond in the upcoming movie.

After Daniel Craig stepped down from 007 franchise in 2021, the Hollywood director Paul Feig believes the actress would be perfect as the British spy.

Paul tells The Sun, “I’d rather Sydney be the next Bond.”

“There have been some cool Bond girls, but come on, let her be the super-spy, she’s great,” claims the 63-year-old movie-maker.

Paul, who directed Sydney in her latest hit The Housemaid, adds, “She’s one of the hardest-working people I know, so professional, so smart, so savvy. I think she’d be a good spy.”

Last year, Sydney spoke of her interest in Bond role after the franchise was bought by Amazon MGM.

She remarked, “I’ve always been a huge fan and I’m excited and curious to see what they do with it.”

When asked if she ever wanted to play a Bond girl, the Euphoria actress mentioned, “Depends on the script.”

“I think I’d have more fun as James Bond,” stated the 28-year-old star.

Besides Sydney, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Callum Turner, Jacob Elordi and Jack O’Connell have all been linked to the Bond role.

Meanwhile, the forthcoming movie will be directed by Denis Villeneuve.
