Chris Pratt opened up about his humble beginnings when he mostly played the supporting.

The Guardians of the Galaxy star looked back at the 2009 rom-com, Bride Wars, starring Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson in which he portrayed Fletcher, the long time boyfriend of Hathaway's character.

"This is the role that I often was offered from early in my career up until this point," Pratt explained the Entertainment Weekly, "which is the guy you don't want to end up with the girl, and kind of the douche character."

He continued, "I've been offered that a lot. I dined out on 'd---head boyfriend' for a long time."

In his early career, Pratt did indeed portray numerous ignorant, or unappealing supporting characters when he started out, including in projects like Wanted, Jennifer's Body, Take Me Home Tonight, and What's Your Number.

Talking about the love he still has for Parks and Rec character, Andy Dwyer, who enjoyed a lovely romance with Aubrey Plaza's April Ludgate.

"He's like a golden retriever — eternal optimist — and she's just like aloof, and her character was so into irony and the comedy that comes from irony that she picked the least likely person to end up with, and then fell in love,” Pratt explained.

The role became his breakthrough which shifted him from a guest star or supporting character to main character.

Pratt then enjoyed the leading role as Peter Quill/Star-Lord in Marvel’s Guardian's of the Galaxy.

As of now, Pratt's voice can currently be heard in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, now in theatres.
