Jenna Ortega opened up about how a role changed her decision of walking from Hollywood.
The Wednesday star, who began her career on kids’ shows like Netflix’s Richie Rich and Disney’s Stuck in the Middle, revealed that she was seriously considering giving up acting until she landed a role in You.
In her appearance on Kid Cudi’s Big Bro podcast, Ortega said, "I didn’t know what else I was gonna do."
"I’ve never really considered anything else, more so recently, just out of sake of curiosity and wanting another life experience," the actress added.

Ortega was left to prove her skills by meeting new casting directors and people who didn’t know who she was.
The Scream actress continued, "It just felt like a good time to call it quits if I was going to. I was starting high school, and, ‘it was a good run’ sort of thing."
However, soon enough she received the role in season 2 of You, where she played Ellie Alves, who was Joe Goldberg’s (Penn Badgley) downstairs neighbour.
Ortega recalled, "I went on that set, and I loved it and had the best time. I thought, 'Yeah, there’s no way I could let this go.'"
Following her role in You, the actress went to star in several leading roles in films and TV series like, X, Scream VI, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Death of a Unicorn and Emmy-winning , Wednesday series.
