Disney has revealed that the iconic 2000s film The Devil Wears Prada will be getting a sequel that will come out on May 1, 2026.

News of a sequel being in the works came out last year in 2006 and it was reported that Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt would be making a return.

No actors have been confirmed by Disney to be returning, however, one of the stars from the original, Stanley Tucci told Variety recently, “I know they’re working on it. If it happens, I would be so happy, but I cannot give you any information. Otherwise, I’ll go to the actor’s prison or something. [The original] was one of the best experiences ever.”

The 2006 film was based on the 2003 novel from Lauren Weisberger as the synopsis of the flick reads, “With an aspiration to become a journalist, Andy, a young graduate, travels to New York. She starts working as an assistant to one of the city's biggest magazine editors, the cynical Miranda Priestly.”

According to reports, the sequel will follow Streep’s character as she attempts to navigate the decline of traditional magazine publishing while facing off against Blunt’s Emily who is now a executive for a luxury group.
