Rebel Wilson seemingly took a jab at Charlotte MacInnes, who chose not to side with her during the messy lawsuit which delayed the Pitch Perfect star’s directorial debut film.
The rising star recently showed up at a yacht in the Cannes and sang a song off of the unreleased musical, an action that upset the Bridesmaids star.
“Charlotte MacInnes in a culturally inappropriate Indian outfit on Len Blavatnik's luxury yacht in Cannes - ironically singing a song from a movie that will never get released because of her lies and support for the people blocking the film's release,” Rebel wrote on the movie’s official Instagram account, as per Daily Mail.
She continued sarcastically commenting on the snaps, saying, “So glad you got your record deal Charlotte at the expense of the 300 people who worked on The Deb and really wanna see it released.”
Notably, Rebel did not address Charlotte’s performance on her personal social media platforms, instead, she appears to be busy in promoting her upcoming film, Bride Hard, featuring Anna Camp.
The Deb’s release has been delayed yet, since the comedian, who made her directorial debut with the musical, was sued by the producers who worked on the film, namely, Vincent Holden, Gregor Cameron, and Amanda Ghost for allegations she made against them.
Rebel had accused the three of embezzlement and misconduct, even noting that they displayed “inappropriate behavior” toward Charlotte.
The claims were met with a defamation lawsuit, and the North Shore actress ended up siding against the Australian actress by flat-out denying any alleged misconduct.
