Tom Cruise spotted atop BFI IMAX in London, sparking speculation over film promo or stunt
Tom Cruise is in London to receive an honorary British Film Institute Fellowship but that does not mean that the actor would simply receive the award and move on with his everyday life.
The megastar took the opportunity to take a stroll to the BFI IMAX theatre, located just a short walk away from the institute.
The 62-year-old was spotted on top of the building, pausing like a real-life superhero and seemed to enjoy the view.
Fans and paparazzi alike took several pictures of the Top Gun actor from a distance, and Deadline has confirmed that the figure on the roof was indeed Cruise.
It is also unclear whether it was a mere leisurely stroll or a promotional stunt for Cruise’s upcoming movie Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, as the entire BFI IMAX is currently wrapped in the film’s poster.
It is worth noting that Cruise has lately been spending a significant amount of time in or around London, especially with his rumoured girlfriend Ana de Armas.
When is 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' coming out?
The eighth and potentially last instalment of the Mission: Impossible franchise is set to release on May 23 across North America. The film will also be shown at the Cannes Film Festival on May 14.
