Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to make a surprise evening appearance at tonight’s VE Day 80 concert, Kensington Palace has confirmed, and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest royal events of the year.
The Prince and Princess of Wales will attend VE Day 80: A Celebration to Remember, a BBC1 live broadcast from Horse Guards Parade marking the conclusion of the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day.
Although their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis won’t be joining them, the couple’s unexpected evening appearance is being seen as a special treat for fans.
Zoe Ball will host the show, which aims to honour veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice during WWII.
Joining William and Kate will be King Charles and Queen Camilla, who’ve also attended several events throughout the VE Day commemorations this week.
The couple were earlier spotted at Westminster Abbey this morning for a Service of Thanksgiving, where the King and Prince William laid wreaths at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior.
Kate wowed in a black and white Alessandra Rich polka dot dress, paired with Princess Diana’s earrings and a hat by Juliette Botterill, blending tribute and elegance perfectly.
Earlier this week, all three of their children made a rare public appearance alongside their parents to attend Monday’s military parade and balcony flypast, delighting royal fans.
