Josh Peck, who is known for starring in Nickelodeon’s Drake & Josh, debuted a surprising cameo in the cold open of The Last of Us.
The fourth episode of the show began with the appearance of FEDRA (Federal Disaster Response Agency) in a flashback scene that was played by former teenager star.
In an interview with Variety, the 38-year-old opened up about his expectations when he was auditioning for the role.
The TV star revealed he added a personal twist to “humanize” that character which he considered as “despicable.”
When the American comedian was presented with the script of the scene, he instantly knew “how to do this.”
Although he noted that the horrible war situation cannot be relatable, Josh linked this monologue to a time when he was “telling my friends one of my favorite stories that still cracks me up.”
In order to get the role, the Captain America: Cvil War star made efforts to match the “tone for the audition.”
Starting with the first episode, the Mean Creek actor watched all the episodes within “eight hours,” because the thriller captured his attention “immediately.”
However, he had no expectations of hearing back as he “don’t usually get things as good as this.”
The scene opened in the armoured military vehicle that was based on the Seattle quarantine zone from 2018.
Josh presented an explicit monologue while talking about Greenberg, who is a fellow soldier.
The child actor never had a chance to meet his father, who died in 2013. He was reportedly born out of his mother’s extramarital affair with her co-worker.
