The Grammy-winning pop icon has been performing in Brazil, where several celebrity stars such as Katy Perry were also seen enjoying the show.

On Saturday 3rd May, the Abracadabra singer held a free concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The artist made a record of having over 2 million people attend the concert at Copacabana Beach.

The Academy Award-winning songwriter now has the highest-attended concert by a female artist in history, as confirmed by the concert organisers.

Previously, Madonna held this record, which drew 1.6 million attendees, and now Gaga has this designation.

The classically trained musician, Gaga acknowledged the crowd during the concert and said that their spirit may be heard globally that night.

“Your spirit may be heard around the world tonight. Two and a half million people,” Gaga said.

Gaga has had fans in a frenzy ever since she announced the special free show in Brazil. People have camped outside her hotel and have been singing her songs, waiting to catch a glimpse of her since Tuesday night.

Finally, on Friday, Gaga gave fans a teaser of what’s coming with a rehearsal on the stage.
