As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue raising their two children away from royal life, it appears they’ve built a tight-knit, supportive circle of chosen family and it includes some big names.
While Meghan has spoken often about her close bond with longtime friends like Serena Williams, it turns out Prince Harry has also formed his own surrogate family.
One of those figures is legendary music producer and composer David Foster, who has reportedly become a “second father” to the Duke of Sussex.
In a 2020 interview with Access Hollywood, Foster’s wife, actress Katharine McPhee, revealed the close bond between her husband and Harry.
“My husband has a really, really beautiful relationship with Harry. They're like father and son,” she said.
Foster played a key role in helping the Sussexes transition out of royal life, arranging the Canadian mansion where Harry, Meghan, and baby Archie stayed during their first Christmas away from the UK.
“I felt honoured to help Meghan,” Foster said at the time, adding that, as a Canadian, he felt connected to the Commonwealth and the royal couple’s journey.
McPhee also revealed her own shared history with Meghan, saying: “She went to a school called Immaculate Heart, as did I... We’ve known each other loosely over the years.”
In June 2022, Harry was seen playing polo in California with David and Katharine in tow, just days after returning from the UK following Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
