Charlotte Jordan is opening up about her experience of working on Coronation Street and the reason behind her eventual departure from the soap opera.

The actress portrayed the role of Daisy Midgeley for four years, and she is set to exit the show in the coming weeks after filming her final scene earlier this month.

However, the exit is an unconventional one compared to previous characters, as Midgeley will just leave in the back of a cab.

An insider told The Sun, “No one ever wants to leave in the back of a cab, but that’s exactly what’s happening with Charlotte.”

The source continued, "They’re not killing her off, but she leaves after burning all her bridges with step-mum Jenny Bradley.”

The 30-year-old gave an interview to the outlet where she shared her feelings about leaving the show after a long time.

Jordan described her character’s departure as “bittersweet” and acknowledged that Weatherfield has given Midgeley “family, community, stability.”

She further revealed that the fictional town has “also been the source of so much trauma” for her character.

"I think we’ve watched her slowly try to pick up the pieces since her stalking storyline, but she’s ultimately realised she doesn’t need to stay in a place that’s caused her so much heartbreak,” Jordan said.

The actress then went on to say that she is personally “grateful” for her time working on the show and the people she has collaborated with.

What other TV shows did Charlotte Jordan star in?

Besides playing Daisy Midgeley in ITV's Coronation Street, Charlotte Jordan appeared as Gaby Rant in Netflix’s Free Rein.
