Prince William and Kate Middleton are facing a major decision about the future of their eldest child, Prince George.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are said to be navigating a “real dilemma” as they look to find the perfect secondary school for their eldest son, who is currently second in line to the throne.

George, 11, is currently enrolled at Lambrook School in Berkshire, but with the school only accepting students up to age 13, a big change is on the horizon. While the young royal still has four terms left at Lambrook, all eyes are already on what’s next.

The frontrunner appears to be Eton College — the elite all-boys school attended by both Prince William and Prince Harry

According to sources quoted in the Daily Mail, George even paid a visit to Eton before the Easter holidays, fuelling speculation that it may be his next destination.

One insider claimed: “It’s the talk of the school — and of the parents.”

Prince William reportedly enjoyed his time at Eton, but Harry once described it as “purgatory for one very unbrilliant boy,” revealing a much more negative experience in his memoir Spare.

That being said, Princess Kate may have her eyes on another option. The Princess of Wales is said to be drawn to Highgate School in London, thanks to its “world-class drama department.”

However, the distance between Windsor and North London might make it an impractical choice.

Meanwhile, Kate’s alma mater, Marlborough College — a prestigious co-ed boarding school — also remains on the table. The school also educated Kate’s siblings Pippa and James Middleton, giving it strong family ties.
