Elton John, who is struggling with limited vision due to a vigorous infection, proved his extraordinary capabilities by performing for the Saturday Night Live despite being almost blind.
The 78-year-old musician did not disappoint his fans after the singer played the piano flawlessly and sang the lyrics of songs from his new collaborative album with Brandi Carlile Who Believes In Angels?
Sir Elton, who has been unable to watch his boys play rugby, appeared in great spirits as he donned a white jacket, trousers and his signature neon-green glasses.
A video of the musical segment went viral after it was shared on YouTube as fans started appreciating the legend and wishing him a speedy recovery.
One of the users, who never watched the musical guest, tuned into SNL to catch a glimpse of the Your Song singer, gushing: “Like the good old days listening to the radio. Beautiful song.”
Another penned down about Sir Elton and Brandi coming together: “What an absolutely beautiful collaboration.” A third one called the entire gig “soul quenching.”
Earlier, the Cold Heart hitmaker announced the "distressing" news about his health condition in an Instagram post, revealing a “severe eye infection” has caused him to go partially blind with sight left in “one eye only.”
The five-time Grammy winner, in an interview with the Times, opened up about how he gets “emotional” but is still pushing through as he feels “lucky” to have a life he is living.
“I still have my wonderful family, and I can still see something out of here,” Sir Elton added while pointing to his left eye.
