Jack Black performs at 'SNL' after achieving major milestone

Jack Black made his Saturday Night Live comeback after a two-decade-long hiatus, following the success of his recent movie.

The School of Rock actor mentioned the projects he worked on during his hiatus, after a monologue addressing the time gap between now and his last performance in 2005.

"I know, it’s the first time ever a host has quit in the middle of the monologue. But that’s kinda cool it’s the first time it’s ever happened," the 55-year-old quipped, stating that the pressure was making him want to skip hosting.

However, he did not quit and went on to sing, "I’m back! I’m back on Saturday Night Live again. Jack Black! I’m hosting Saturday Night Live again. Twenty years ago I hosted this freakin’ show."

Jack has achieved another big feat this year, with his 2025 film, A Minecraft Movie, having the best box-office opening weekend of the year so far.

Notably, the movie, which also features eminent celebrities such as Jason Momoa and Jennifer Coolidge, hit the big screens on April 4 and earned 55 million on Friday with an estimated130 million dollars over the weekend, as per Deadline.
