Bradley Cooper fans would definitely be hoping for this particular rumour to be true.

James Gunn’s Superman is probably the most anticipated superhero movie of the year.

The film stars David Corenswet as the Man of Steel, alongside Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

However, it is a mystery who would play Superman’s father, Jor-El, or whether the character would appear in the movie at all.

Legendary actors such as Marlon Brando and Russell Crowe have previously played the role of Superman’s biological father. So, if the character does appear in the reboot, it should be played by a popular actor.

In comes the rumour that Bradley Cooper is playing the role of Jor-El.

The rumour started to circulate following early test screenings of the upcoming movie with X, formerly Twitter, account ‘ViewerAnon’ posting that “He [Cooper] appears in the first couple minutes of the movie so I promise this is not a big spoiler.”

It is worth noting that 'ViewerAnon' has since deleted that post and DC Studios has not commented on the rumour at the time of writing this article.

The rumour seems to have gained traction due to the fact that Gunn is known for giving prominent roles to actors he has worked with before.

The filmmaker previously collaborated with the 50-year-old in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Superman is set to be released on July 11, 2025.
