Ty Burrell sat down for an interview with People where he opened up about his love for the cast of Modern Family, and why he has been absent from the reunions.
"We've had a couple of gatherings, but I wasn't able to make it to a couple of them," he said. "I live in Utah now, so the logistics have gotten a little bit trickier."
"But everybody has stayed in touch, and I'm incredibly grateful to know all those people," added the actor.
He played the role of beloved dad Phil Dunphy on the series for all the seasons, running from 2009 to 2020.
The role of his wife, Claire was taken on by Julie Bowen meanwhile his children were played by Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter and Nolan Gould.
Additional cast members making up the primary characters list were Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, Ed O'Neill, Sofía Vergara, Rico Rodriguez and Jeremy Maguire.
Burell also revealed that the cast keep in touch in a variety of ways, "We've been texting as of, even yesterday we were texting. Yeah, that group was obviously just very tight. We went through a lot together, and everybody stays in touch."
"They're still a huge part of my life, and I think they always will be," he added.
