Ariana Grande shades ex husband Dalton Gomez amid new romance
The singer hinted that her marriage was broken before Ethan Slater entered the picture
Ariana Grande’s 2024 deluxe edition of her album Eternal Sunshine provided fans with a glimpse into her romantic life.
The pop icon, 31, married American estate agent Dalton Gomez in May 2021 after dating for a little more than a year but they broke up by July 2023.
Furthermore, fans are convinced that the star sang about her current partner, Ethan Slater, on several tracks and they have also uncovered a diss track aimed at her ex-husband.
The Wicked actress has been very careful not to bring Dalton up or discuss their personal problems since they divorced after two years of marriage.
Grande sang in her new song, Twilight Zone, “I hope you win Best Actor. Cause I had you completely wrong,” which hints at her ex-partner.
The line, “I broke your heart because you broke mine,” is extended in the song Intro (End Of The World).
The Grammy Award winning song, Past Life, contains another hint about what happened: “Always wondered what would happen if I let you lose me. Always wondered what would happen if I let need more. Might f*** around elevate my expectation. Now I’m fine to leave you in a past life.”
The Hampstead singer favourite song and the album’s closing track, is named after the neighbourhood where she and her former love rented a gorgeous apartment while Wicked was being filmed.
