Actor Vin Diesel recently had MCU fans’ hopes up when he hinted at a possible Guardians of the Galaxy spinoff.
The 57-year-old actor took to Instagram on Tuesday to provide an update to his fans about what project he is working on in 2025.
The spinoff is based around the character Groot, whom Diesel voiced in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, as well as in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War and 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
A Groot animated spinoff series, I Am Groot, aired on Disney+ in 2022, where Diesel gave his voice to Baby Groot. This time, however, Diesel hinted at a live-action feature film.
In the caption, he wrote, “Disney wants their Planet X! Which some say is Marvel’s most anticipated movie, haha. The film where Groot returns to his home planet.”
Along with a possible Groot spinoff, Diesel also teased a Rock’em Sock’em adaptation based on the Mattel toy and new instalments of The Last Witch Hunter and Riddick.
The actor also gave a shout-out to the recently held Oscars ceremony as the show began with a clip from Furious 7. He went on to say that bringing the Fast franchise back to Los Angeles was difficult but “it is the right thing to do.”
