Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds made their first public appearance since Lively filed a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, but not everyone thinks it was the right move.
The couple attended the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special in New York City, where Reynolds even joked about the ongoing legal drama. However, sources suggest that some believe the couple "should have sat this one out."
During the live show, hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler acknowledged Reynolds in the audience, asking, "Ryan Reynolds! How’s it going?"
With his signature wit, Reynolds responded: "Great! Why, what have you heard?"—a remark many believe was a subtle nod to the controversy surrounding Lively’s legal battle.
A source told Page Six that Baldoni might use this moment to reinforce his position, saying:
"Justin is taking this lawsuit in all seriousness and isn’t making a public mockery out of it."
Another insider revealed that while Lively was initially hesitant about attending, she ultimately had "a really nice time" and was glad she went.
"Blake and Ryan have no regrets about making an appearance. They have nothing to hide and no reason not to," the source added.
Why is Blake Lively suing Justin Baldoni?
Blake Lively has accused Justin Baldoni, her It Ends With Us co-star and director, of sexual harassment, retaliation, and emotional distress. The lawsuit also includes claims of intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence. The legal battle has gained significant attention, with both parties maintaining their stance amid increasing public scrutiny.
