Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, walked the red carpet on SNL50, marking their powerful return to the spotlight amid Justin Baldoni's ongoing legal drama.
The couple, in their first appearance, couldn’t hold back from poking fun at It Ends with US case.
The Deadpool star and his wife were in attendance along with other notable figures at the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live.
During the show, former cast members Tina Fey and Amy Poehler decided to clear any confusion people might have about the 50-year-old program.
After taking a few queries from the star-studded audience, Ryan stood up to pose his question. Fey inquired, “How’s it going?"
The Green Lantern hero, trying to appear edgy, jokingly responded with "Great, why? What have you heard?"
The response was seemingly linked to Lively’s co-star and director Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment. He responded with a $400 million lawsuit against the couple.
The audience gave mixed reactions to the diss, with few celebrities, including Kevin Costner and Anya Taylor, not reacting at all.
In the video, the most unusual reaction came from Lively, as she was visibly shocked at her husband's comeback.
The online world, however, spoke out against the duo’s action at the show. Fans were swift to call out SNL to “try and do damage control,” as the two attempted to win sympathy from people.
One person called 48-year-old star’s humour "cringe." Another mentioned his ex-wife, Scarlett Johansson, "I hope Scarlet laughed uproariously."
It is important to note that the pair had stayed majorly out of the limelight to back each other during the legal battle.
