Radio icon Brent Douglas passes away

Brent Douglas, a long time radio personality, was confirmed to have passed away on 8 February.

His show from KMOD Morning Zoo called Phil and Brent ran on Tulsa radio for 27 years.

He used to be a pharmacist back in 1985 but then decided to become a part of the show until 2012 when the hosts decided to bring it to an end.

He was also known by the name, Roy D. Mercer.

Having worked with him for many years, Lynn Hernandez from The Eagles remarked about the two hosts, "You know, one thing I really liked about those guys was not just their comedy. I mean, they had theatre of the mind radio which isn't really done much these days.”

He added, “These days it's a lot of reality tv on the radio. But back then, they really wanted to take you to a different place, whether it was their Dyslexia where they would almost swear on the radio every single time and he would just say everything backwards, their fishing report, their Greek Theatre, and then of course Roy D. Mercer will live on forever."
