Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville split from his wife Lulu after 25 years of marriage, as per The Sun.
On Saturday, September 30, a spokesperson for the actor said, “I can confirm that Hugh Bonneville and Lulu Williams have separated.”
An insider revealed to the outlet, "It is clear that Lulu feels as if 20-odd years of marriage counts for nothing.”
A source added: “It’s a shame as locally they were known to be a very sociable couple.
Notably, five years ago, the couple renewed their wedding vows on their 20th anniversary in Graceland Chapel in the heart of Las Vegas.
The couple was last seen together in April at The Old Vic theater gala in London.
The separation rumors spiked when the actor, 59, attended his co-star Michelle Dockery's wedding just eight days ago sans his gold wedding band.
Hugh Bonneville wife:
Hugh Bonneville tied the knot with wife, Lucinda Lulu Williams, in November 1998.
Lulu, 55, had been by the actor’s side throughout his career; she also used to accompany him on film sets.
The actor never shied away from confessing his love for his wife in public; he referred to her as his "Bedrock" and “Anchor.”
Speaking in 2012, Lulu confessed she wasn’t fazed by Hugh’s fame.
She said: “I don’t take any notice. I don’t notice women fawning over him — although I know everybody talks about it.”
“Don’t forget, we met as teenagers and have a lot of history. We’re not fazed by the glitz of the show business world.”
She further said to Daily Mail that they are just home loving people and do not hang out at celebrity parties.
Her hobby is hanging out at car boots, buying trinkets, doing them up and then reselling them.
