Sydney Sweeny is no stranger to public criticism and recently she made news with her new jeans ad.
However, many believe it may have affected her movie performances at the box office.
The actress’ co-star Halsey has not entered the discourse slamming social media trolls after the duo’s movie flopped.
The movie, Americana, scarring Sydney and Halsey, tanked at the box office after fans decided to boycott it following the Euphoria actress’ jeans ad and reports of her being a Republican.
The movie debuted in theatres on August 15 and made only $500,000 against a reported $9 million budget, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Halsey took to social media to lash out at people boycotting it and urged fans to see it.
The singer wrote, “you should go see this movie. because @tonytost made an exceptional film, in honor of a genre he knows intimately”.
“Because his work and his vision are greater than the 24 hr gossip tabloid denim bulls***”, she added.
She further said, “If you love cinema, than you should know that cinema comes first”.
The comment comes after Sydney defended her bathwater soap controversy.
