Rod Stewart’s Utah concert took an unexpected turn on Friday night after the singer appeared to struggle with his breathing on stage, just weeks after a series of health related show cancellations.

As per latest updates, the singer was performing at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre in West Valley City when audience members observed he appeared less mobile than normal and was frequently holding onto stage gear for support.

According to the video obtained by TMZ showed him continuing the set while leaning on instruments and stage structures, before crew members eventually brought an oxygen tank onstage.

After taking several breaths, he spoke candidly to the audience about what had just happened.

“The show must go on,” he told concertgoers. “I nearly f—ing fainted there. Would you mind if I sit down for this one?”

He then carried on with the remainder of the performance seated in a chair.

The venue’s elevation of roughly 4,300 feet above sea level is being considered as a possible factor in the episode.

The moment came shortly after he cancelled a San Diego show and postponed Las Vegas dates due to an acute respiratory infection and sinus related illness.

Despite recent setbacks, Stewart has made it clear he has no intention of stepping away from performing entirely, saying, “I have no desire to retire.”
