Everything Everywhere All at Once stars Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan will be returning again

Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan took home an Oscar each for their performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once

After making history with their Oscar wins, Everything Everywhere All at Once stars Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan will be reuniting on for the screen once more for a new project.

After the two bagged an Oscar each, the pair will return in Disney+ series American Born Chinese.

The series, which is an adaptation of the 2006 graphic novel Gene Luen Yang, narrates the story of Jin Wang, who is the child of Chinese immigrants, as he struggles to grow up in a predominately white district.

Wang befriends a Taiwanese student and later gets pulled in a situation involving Chinese mythological gods.

“Dark forces will be calling,” Yeoh, says in the teaser.

“The fate of your world hangs in the balance.”

Yeoh will essay the role of Wang’s aunt, who is busy “maintaining her secret identity as the all-powerful Buddhist bodhisattva of Compassion” as per Variety.

Ke Huy Quan will play Freddie Wong, “the star of a popular 1990s sitcom”.

Furthermore, Everything Everywhere All at Once star Stephanie Hsu will be guest-starring as Shiji Niangniang, the Goddess of Stones.

The star-studded includes big names like Yeo Yann Yann, Chin Han, Daniel Wu, Sydney Taylor and Poppy Liu. James Hong, who essayed the role of Gong Gong in Everything Everywhere All at Once, will play the Jade Emperor.

American Born Chinese will premiere on Disney+ on May 24, 2023.
