Sam Thompson breaks silence on Zara McDermott, Louis Tomlinson’s ‘hard launch’

Sam Thompson has opened up about his former partner’s new love life and how he has dealt with it.

The British TV star dated Zara McDermott for five years until their eventual split in December 2024.

Following their separation, Zara was rumoured to be dating One Direction star Louis Tomlinson.

The pair eventually went public in May and have been spotted packing on PDA ever since.

In August, the couple took the big step of hard launching their love on Instagram.

Sam has now spoken about Zara’s move on and how it is to see your ex go official with someone on his Staying Relevant podcast.

The 33-year-old revealed people were checking up on him asking how how he is holding up after Zara shared the picture with Louis as they shared a kiss on Instagram.

Louis then commented on the post confessing his love publicly for the Love Island star saying “I Love You”.

This was the first time the couple had made a social media post hard launching their relationship.

“And genuinely you know what it’s like when you don’t quite know what’s happened so you think the worst.”, Sam added.

The TV star said he would not wish “hard launch” on anyone.

“Tell you what though, I wouldn't wish a hard launch on my worst enemy though.”
