Jimmy Kimmel will host and slap.

As he gets ready to host this year's ceremony, Jimmy Kimmel made fun of those who attempt to replicate Will Smith's notorious 2022 Oscars slap, saying he will "beat the s***" out of them.

After making a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith's shaved head, Smith, 54, smacked Rock, 58, onstage, shocking the globe.

Kimmel, 55, was eager to make light of the event a year later in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

He jokingly replied: "Well, I size them up, and if I'm bigger than they are, I beat the s**t out of them on television." When asked how he would respond if someone tried to hit him. "And if it's The Rock I run."

Kimmel reportedly disclosed that his monologue will make frequent reference to the smack.

“Because so much has been said and there's so much focus on it. I obviously don't want to make the whole monologue about that, but it would be ridiculous not to mention it.”

In response to the slap, The Academy decided to form a "crisis team" to handle any problems that might arise during the event.

Kimmel commented: 'Yeah, I feel like I should at least know what was discussed so I know what I should fear when I walk onstage. But, really, I suspect it mostly has to do with UFOs.”

The Will Smith-Chris Rock Oscars slap

The incident happened after Rock made a joke about Pinkett-alopecia-related Smith's baldness last year.

'Keep my wife's name out your f*cking mouth!' was repeated when Pinkett-husband Smith's stormed the stage and slapped Rock for his joke that Pinkett-Smith was sporting a "G.I. Jane" look.
