Jimmy Kimmel is reigniting an old feud.

The 55-year-old comic who is set to host the upcoming Oscars this month expressed his excitement over the prospect of his frenemy Matt Damon not showing up at the ceremony.

“I'm thrilled that he won't show,” he quipped in an interview with People. “I hope he never gets nominated again.”

The fake feud between the pair started out years ago, when the television personality began closing out his eponymous show saying “Apologies to Matt Damon, we ran out of time.”

Kimmel revealed in a different interview that he had never even met the Bourne Identity star before the stint.

“I decided to say, for the amusement of one of our producers who was standing next to me, 'I want to apologize to Matt Damon. We ran out of time,’” the Paw Patrol star explained.

“Matt Damon was just the first name that popped into my head,” the comedian shared. “I was trying to think of an A-list star, and somebody we absolutely would not bump if he was on the show.”

Speaking to People, Jimmy brought up the 2017 debacle at the Academy Awards when the presenters of the Best Picture winner award were given the wrong envelope, announcing La La Land instead of Moonlight.

“I believe that his presence in some way caused the envelope mix-up,” the multi-hyphenate star continued.

“Jokes aside. I was sitting next to Matt when that literally unfolded, and he figured out what was going on a couple of seconds before I did,” Jimmy revealed.
