Disney brings its classic Peter Pan story with a new twist in the Peter Pan & Wendy live-action

The first trailer of the live-action of Peter Pan & Wendy has dropped and it seemingly reveals that Disney has decided to make some changes to the classic.

In what appears to be a reincarnation of the widely loved Peter Pan story, the trailer showed the return of the movie’s characters’ like Peter, essayed by Alexander Molony, and Wendy, played by Ever Anderson, along with the Lost Boys, Yara Shahidi’s Tikerbell and arch nemesis Captain Hook, played by Jude Law.

Set to release on Disney+ on 25 April, it showcases the magical moments witnessed in the classical as Peter, Wendy and the rest of the gang glide over the mermaid-filled ocean and battle floating pirate ships.

However, a notable aspect that was absent from the trailer was Captain’s Hook ticking crocodile, which has been an iconic imaginative element to the story.

Helmed by David Lowery, the movie promises stunning visuals, which comes to no surprise considering his work in his last film The Green Knight.

Whether or not the movie will be a roaring success will be told in time but considering the historical reception of most Disney live-action films, many fans have seemingly become tired of Disney’s multiple takes and remakes of its classic catalogue like The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast.
