Leslie Grace has weighed in on the cancelation of DC’s Batgirl and responded to one of its CEO’s claims that the film was “unreleasable.”
Back in August, the Grace-led film was scrapped by Warner Bros. Discovery without any explanations after nearly being finished.
During the latest announcement of DC’s slate of upcoming movies helmed by its new co-CEOs Peter Safran and James Gunn, the former told a crew of journalists that the superhero film was not releasable.
However, in an interview with Variety, the 28-year-old actress revealed that she was able to watch one of the test runs of the film and that it was "incredible."
“The film that I got to see — the scenes that were there — was incredible,” she said. “There was definitely potential for a good film, in my opinion.”
Grace noted that while the film was “nothing short” of having a few obstacles, they were able to deliver "what we knew we wanted to deliver for this film,” crediting it to the "incredible crew."
