John Legend talks about his future on The Voice

Prior to the launch of season 23 of The Voice, John Legend was open and honest about his plans for the show with Enews correspondent Courtney Lopez.

"I won't be here this season, but I'll be back," John Legend spoke on taking a break from NBC's The Voice.

The 44-year-old Legend, who recently welcomed daughter Esti with wife Chrissy Teigen, acknowledged that he is unsure of how long he will serve as the coach.

He said, "It's amazing that any show lasts as long as The Voice has lasted, and I'm proud to be part of the legacy of the show."

While Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper will appear as first-timers, the publication claims that Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson will return to their roles as coaches when the show debuts on March 6.

Since he has participated in every season of The Voice since its debut in 2011, season 23 will be Blake Shelton's final one as a coach.
