Stranger Things writers are setting the record straight on the potential spin-off of the sci-fi series.
Earlier this week, news outlet GiantFreakinRobot revealed that the Stranger Things creators were looking at expanding the franchise as they gear up for the fifth and final season of the show.
They claimed that a spin-off focused on one of the main characters, Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown has been confirmed.
However, the writers of the show quickly debunked the rumor, and simply responded with “Not true” under the news on Twitter.
Previously, Matt and Ross Duffer, the creators of the show, revealed that they are not planning any spin-off whatsoever.
"I've read these rumors that there's gonna be an Eleven spinoff, that there's gonna be a Steve and Dustin spinoff, or that it's another number," Matt said at the time. "That's not interesting to me because we've done all that. We've spent I don't know how many hours exploring all of that."
The fifth season of Stranger Things will reportedly begin filming in May.
