Prince Harry claims Charles teased him by asking about his 'real father'

Prince Harry recalled his father Prince Charles taunting him about his mother Princess Diana’s affair in his book.

In his memoir, Spare, the Duke of Sussex explained that His Majesty had a liking for telling “anecdotes,” stating that “one of his best” was a story of a visit to a mental asylum where he met a man claiming to be the Prince of Wales.

He shared that Charles used to wag his finger at the patient and say, “let's see, you can't be the Prince of Wales, I am the Prince of Wales” to which the patient responded with the “same gesture.”

According to the UK native, Charles then joked to him: “Who knows if I'm even your real father? Perhaps your father really is in Broadmoor, my dear son!”

Harry expressed that the joke was “in poor taste,” considering his mother’s affair with Major James Hewitt at the time.

Princess Diana dated the Household Cavalry officer from 1986 to 1991.
